Our premiere facility is located in the British Properties of West Vancouver, 15 minutes from downtown Vancouver. The Clubhouse has scenic views of the Burrard Inlet, North Shore Mountains and The Vancouver Skyline. This position reports to the Food and Beverage Manager.

Previous hospitality experience is an asset.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to members and guests in a timely manner, while adhering to recipes and specifications.
  • Welcome and greet members and guests in a friendly and professional manner, and provide recommendations on drink selections when requested.
  • Take customer orders and process payments accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
  • Maintain a clean and organized bar area, including washing glassware, utensils, and equipment, and restocking supplies as needed.
  • Check identification of customers to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol.
  • Monitor and control inventory levels of liquor, beer, wine, and other supplies, and place orders as needed to ensure adequate stock.
  • Adhere to all safety, sanitation, and legal regulations, including responsible alcohol service practices.
  • Handle customer inquiries, comments, and complaints in a professional manner, and escalate issues to management when necessary.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff and servers to ensure prompt and accurate service to customers.
  • Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance knowledge of mixology techniques, beverage offerings, and customer service skills.
  • Perform opening and closing duties, including setup and breakdown of the bar area, cash handling, and cleaning tasks.
  • Uphold company policies and standards for customer service, cleanliness, and professionalism at all times.
  • Continuously strive to improve the guest experience by providing attentive service and creating a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Serving food and beverage to members and guests.
  • Practicing responsible alcohol service.
  • Monitoring patrons for intoxication and arranging taxi service when appropriate.

Qualifications and Skills Requirements

  • Service orientation - comfortable helping customers with high expectations.
  • Minimum 2 years bartending experience in quality establishments i.e. Clubs, restaurants, hotel.
  • Serving it right certificate.
  • Age 19+ for serving alcohol.
  • Sound knowledge of mixology and wine service
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to work all shifts, weekends and holidays
  • Problem solver - ability to understand and resolve issues.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to provide great customer service in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable to both take direction and work unsupervised
  • Own transportation an asset as bus service is limited

  • Handling complaints and concerns of members and guests.
  • Providing food and beverage product knowledge.
  • Using proper serving techniques.
  • Practising responsible alcohol service.
  • Monitoring patrons for intoxication and arranging taxi service when appropriate.

Transportation to our location is difficult. Employees need ample time if relying on public transit, or their own vehicles.

Compensation and Benefits
  • Hourly wage rate: $22.00-$24.00 per year depending on experience.
